ASHMEN
ASHMEN
Birthed out of the recording session for the album Transect, the Ashmen are a musical tour de’force from the Southeast who’s sound is anything but regional. The Ashmen are among the rising crop of musicians who’s influences are only limited by the speed of their internet connection. Drawing comparisons to creative juggernauts Wilco and Radiohead, the Ashmen have quickly amassed a well deserved following of devoted fans, and are already working on a follow up album to Transect.
The Ashmen are fronted by prominent New Orleans songwriter Damien Louviere. Damien, raised in a musical family, began performing publicly at the age of 14 and has successfully pushed the creative boundaries on stage for nearly two decades. The list of performers he’s shared the stage with is ridiculously long and distinguished. Damien’s supporting cast consists of monster musicians in their own right that share very similar musical roots. Guitarist Scott George possesses an encyclopedic knowledge and the ability to perform nearly every genre of music from the last half century. He is widely respected by his peers as one of the Southeast’s best kept secrets.
The rhythm section is led by bassist and creative force behind the Raw Panda Collective Sean Peterson. The Ashmen expand their rhythmic capabilities exponentially by employing drummers Brandon Warren and Sims Chadwick. Each member of the Ashmen has spent the majority of their musical lives performing professionally. It is their collective professional experience, and unquenchable creative thirst that adds up to a consistent and incredibly entertaining live experience.
