On Jan 10th, 2012 the Santa Barbara, CA based band Rebelution released "Peace of Mind" through their own label 87 Music in partnership with Controlled Substance Sound Labs. Peace of Mind was released as a multi-length triple album which includes Peace of Mind: Acoustic as well as Peace of Mind: Dub. Marking the highest chart debut of Rebelution’s career, Peace of Mind debuted at #13 on the Billboard Top 200, #1 Reggae and #1 Independent albums as well as #4 on the iTunes overall album chart. The band previously had four top 10 albums on the Reggae chart and their 2009 release Bright Side of Life debuted at No. 54 on the Top 200 and #1 Reggae.
Rebelution kicked off their “Peace of Mind Tour” the day after the release, selling out shows at Philly’s The Electric Factory, The Hollywood Palladium, Denver’s The Fillmore, The Fox Theater in Oakland and Hard Rock in Orlando, FL. The tour made stops in a total of 42 cities across the country.
During Summer 2012 they supported O.A.R on their tour, headlined four amphitheaters in Florida as well as festival performances at Outside Lands, Hangout, Forecastle, Summer Camp and Summer Set. A headlining tour is set for October.
Peace of Mind marks the first time Rebelution has expanded beyond their usual self-production enlisting producers Michael Goldwasser (Easy Star All-Stars), Amp Live (Zion-I), Yeti Beats (Kool Keith, George Clinton), Keith Armstrong and Errol Brown (Stephen, Ziggy, Damian, and Bob Marley). The album builds upon the band’s signature style while venturing into new musical genres from the lush strings incorporated into the gentle “Route Around” to the driving guitar and synths throughout “Lady In White”.
Rebelution has developed into a front-runner for grassroots, independent and tour driven music groups. Originally formed in 2004, members Eric Rachmany (vocals / guitar), Rory Carey (keyboards), Wesley Finley (drums), and Marley D. Williams (bass) met in college, while residing in Isla Vista, a popular beachside community in Santa Barbara. It was there that the seeds to Rebelution’s future were planted creating inspiring and engaging music that would leave their listeners with the sense that they have the power to make this world a better place. The band continuously tours across the country, ventured to South America and Europe, and has previously performed at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits among others.

Passafire

On Passafire's fourth album release, Start From Scratch, the Savannah, GA based Rock outfit is truly starting from scratch. Injected with energy from a new member (keyboardist Mike DeGuzman), a freshly formed band-owned label (FlameGuy Records) and a new producer, Paul Leary (Butthole Surfers, Sublime, Meat Puppets), the band have made their best album to date. Trekking down to Sonic Ranch outside of El Paso, TX, where Connor Oberst, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sublime and many more recently recorded, they expand their sound from their previous releases; deeply honing guitar tones, exploring synth sounds, and laying down tracks of Harmonica and Banjo. "We always wanted to have a good balance of organic and synthesized sounds and we finally had the chance to make that happen this time," recollects singer, Ted Bowne. Songs like "Dimming Sky," "Lorelie, and the title track, "Start From Scratch," exemplify this newly found balance.
Passafire was formed in 2003 by students attending Savannah College of Art and Design. Throughout the years they have become a perpetually touring band playing hundreds of shows a year with bands like 311, Pepper, Rebelution, Matisyahu, Michael Franti, The Wailers and many more. Bowne doesn't mind the grueling schedule and adds, "Touring is the best way to keep the buzz about the band going. What keeps it fun and exciting is the people we meet and places we get to see. We are in a new city every day so there's always something to go see or do. If we didn't tour constantly, we wouldn't be doing as well as we are. That's a fact."

Through the Roots

With a combined vision, to educate and entertain, Through The Roots, was formed in the spring in 2008. Members of the band Evan Hawkins (vocals/guitar), Taylor Boatwright (drums), Bryan Jackson (bass), Brady O'rear (rhythm keys), and Chris Cruz (lead guitar) combine their musical talent and experience to create an innovative sound that is truly satisfying. Whether it may be their uplifting lyrics or catchy melodies, these guys know how to entertain a group of listeners of any size. The guys met one after another as a sign of fate and have been jamming consistently ever since. They played their first show after only two months of practicing together, and have played over 50 shows since then, up and down the coast of California. From San Diego To Chico, California, and through out parts of Arizona they have rocked crowd's in the thousands. With hopes of obtaining a record label and goals to record their full length album. Through the Roots has big plans for 2009: after recently finishing their first six song EP, TTR's management is working diligently to fill their calendar. Through the Roots has shared the stage with bands such as Tribal Seeds, The Liberation Posse, Natural Incense, Reggae Party, and Steel Foundation. Their main influences are Steel Pulse, UB40, Ooklah the Moc , Eek-a-Mouse, and Sublime. Upcoming events include The Human Rights Festival at San Diego State, playing with The Pack in Tucson , taking part in the Emergenza Music Festival, and jamming for the famous Cannon Ball Run in Chico, CA. TTR is working closely with the CEA Foundation in a persistent effort to educate about the dangers of drunk driving and to promote the idea or making good choices. Life is short and there is no time to waste, the music of Through the Roots is able to accomplish getting this message to people through their satisfying tunes.
